Guild members enjoy exclusive programming planned around a variety of interests and schedules, and educational opportunities that include invitations to major fundraising events and social functions, including major library events, as well as donor cultivation and recognition events. All Guild events are open to and appropriate for members of all ages and professions.

Matching Gifts
Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some may even triple the amount of your gift! Many companies also match volunteer hours or gifts from spouses, retirees, and board members.  This is a great way to expand your gift value.

Corporate and Foundation Giving
Special Initiatives
The Newnan Carnegie Library is much more than a library.  Current NCLF special initiatives help to develop the Service capacity, strengthen its programmatic offerings, and bring Newnan and Coweta Country history to life.  NCLF's projects serve the library’s mission to connect people, history and culture and are the catalysts that will help us fulfill the vision to become one of the best cultural and historical resources in the region.

Sponsorship opportunities
Support the breadth of programs at the Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation while directly touching the lives of community visitors, school children, and members. Corporations, philanthropic foundations, and individuals are invited to partner with NCLF to enhance existing educational programs, develop new programming and bring national exhibitions to Newnan.
We will gladly work with you to create a partnership that meets your business or philanthropic objectives. For more information on how you can support the Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation exhibitions and educational programs, email us.

NCLF Planned Giving
It was the vision of Charles Thompson that brought the Carnegie Library to Newnan. The NCLF Planned Givig members will, in memory of Charles' vision; commit to long term financial support, usually by including the NCLF in their estate plans or some similar designation.

What is a planned gift?
Simply put, a planned gift is a philanthropic gift that is funded either during your lifetime or after your death. The gift is part of a larger estate-planning process in which you decide how certain assets are distributed.

There are many financial instruments available and an estate planner can help you achieve your long-term financial goals, allowing you to take care of loved ones while still supporting organizations such as the Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation. Unless otherwise restricted by you as the donor, your planned gift to the Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation will support the endowment – meaning your gift will truly benefit the long-term health of the organization for generations to come.

What are the benefits of planned giving?
Beyond the great benefits planned gifts provide Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation, they can provide real benefits to you:

  • The tax advantages can be substantial, especially on appreciated securities and properties.
  • Planned gifts can remove property from probate, often reducing or eliminating probate expenses.
  • Planned gifts can prevent the dissipation of funds. You can provide for the needs of a spouse, dependent child, or other family members.
  • An up-to-date will is perhaps the most important tool in creating a planned gift. A proper will ensures that your property is distributed according to your wishes.

What type of planned gift could I make to benefit the Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation?

  • You can preserve assets for your family while making charitable donations.
  • You can reduce your taxable income and your estate tax.

Charitable Remainder Trust

  • You can use underperforming appreciated assets to create a steady income for the rest of your life.
  • You can realize a significant charitable deduction.
  • The capital gains tax may be eliminated.

Beyond the benefits highlighted here, a conversation with a financial professional can help you further discover how planned giving can serve your personal financial goals and your charitable wishes at the same time.  We hope this information will encourage you to take the time to develop and fine-tune your own estate.
